Thursday, 7:20 a.m. Margaret Ellison lets herself in through the back door of Tampa Pasta House, puts the first pot of water on, and props her phone against the flour bin. Twelve tabs are open on it. For two weeks she has been saving our morning pieces, one each morning, meaning to get to them "after lunch." In a restaurant, lunch never really ends.

So this morning, before the prep cook arrives, she wants all of it on one page. One fact from each piece, one thing to do, and a box to tick.

This is that page.

From October 15 to October 28 we published twelve morning analyses. From each one we took a single fact, exactly as that piece reported it, with its source and date, and its most useful "take with you" line. Nothing new is added here, and no number has been rounded. Each item links back to the full piece.

Tampa Pasta House is our sample business.

These are the numbers of a company that sells local-search tools. Source: Insites, July 23, 2026.

What the twelve have in common

Lay the twelve side by side and one line runs through them. A customer is waiting on an answer: on the phone, in a message, in an email, in their own language, or in what an AI assistant says about you before they ever call. The big companies in these pieces didn't win by buying a smarter machine. They wrote down which answers are routine and which ones need a person, and they kept their facts the same everywhere.

Most of what a customer waits on is a routine answer. Write those answers down once, and decide who gives them.

That's also the work we built SmashOne around: you hire an AI employee for the routine answers before you hire a second person, you set it up by talking to it in your own ChatGPT, and before you decide, you can watch it work for our demo businesses, Tampa Pasta House and Casa Lista.
